Ciao to Learning 2.0
Well here is the end to guilt free Internet fun! Yes it has been fun, consuming, frustrating and rewarding.
So what about Social Networking. For the past 12 weeks I feel like I have already experienced a lot of social networking. Joining in with Wikis and Blogs are already very effective social networking tools especially if you follow other Blogs and create friends in Wikis. Even Flickr has a social networking aspect if you decide to 'share' your pictures. In my view Facebook is more like collecting cards or marbles; it seems to me that the idea is to see how many 'friends' you can collect. Most of the people who want to 'add you as a friend' would probably snub you in the street if you walked past them and living in a fantasy world is not really my cup of tea either. Knowing that these tools are out there will help me in dealing with customers. Our library (Riv. Regional Library) has just developed a Wiki and I have tried to be as active as possible so far.
There is no way one person could be active across all of these Internet services even if they wanted to. There are some things I will definitely keep using and others I won't. I have collected many of the websites we have visited in learing 2.0 and put them in Learning 2.0 folder in favourites (yes I know I could have use Del.icio.us but that would have involved another account!).
To wrap it up, I do feel much more empowered than I did at the beginning so thankyou for the opportunity to learn 2.0.

Online tools
Very Useful. There is no question about how I would use this only how soon. I feel like I've been shown the tip of the iceberg and it's a pretty big tip! This could be so useful to me, members, friends, family, anyone with the Internet. Definitely the way of the future. Brilliant! More people need to learn about this NOW!
MashUps
Well according to the rules I now should make some sort of comment on Mash Ups. I did enjoy doing the mash up exercise. If I was unemployed and there was nothing else to do but sit and play on the Internet all afternoon I would probably enjoy Mash Ups. The mash ups that linked pictures and maps and data were extremely interesting but if searching for specfic answers or information it seems like it would be a bit of a hit and miss experience. Great if you are looking for the 'feel' of a place or just having some fun. I found the Voice thread exercise also very interesting. To have people taking about the images is a great idea. This is an extremely valuable way to document the past and present.
